In your mind's eye, how does the Summer Animal Crossing appear?

  • The ability to swim around your island and collect new Sea Creatures is the most significant new feature in Animal Crossing.   All right, let's get this party started.

    Making a Begining

When you first start the game, you'll see some letters from both Nintendo and the event's organizers, which will help you get a little more excited about the event itself.   You are presented with a snorkel that appears to be of an undetermined hue.   My friend, who was also playing at the same time as me, received a pink one, while I received a green one.  "

Next, either Nook's Cranny or Residential Services are where you should go

A variety of swimwear is available at Nook's Cranny.   As with Umbrellas, there is only one color option available per day (at least for the time being), but the color options change on a daily basis just like they do with Umbrellas.   On the first day, it was the horizontally striped yellow, and on the second day, it was the horizontally striped black (thank goodness, because I despise yellow.  .  .  )

While visiting Residential Services, visitors can obtain the official Nook Wetsuit and Snorkel.   Nook Miles are required to purchase them, just as they are for all of the other official Nook products.   The Nook Shopping section of the terminal (or your phone if you have the app) will, on the other hand, offer swimwear for purchase.   I haven't seen any additional Snorkels yet, but it appears that there will be plenty of swimwear to choose from, which is great because I know that I will be walking around in a swimsuit for quite some time, so this is a welcome development.

It's important to remember that, like everything else you get from Nook Shopping or with get a free Nook Miles Ticket, it will take a day for it to be delivered to you if you aren't.  .  .  you know.  .  .  time-traveling cough cough

    Taking a Swim

In terms of how quickly you can swim, the swimming itself is quite slow, but there are a few tricks that you can use to make it go faster, such as tapping the A button more often.   Jumping into the water is also possible from nearly any location on your island, so long as the location has direct access to the sea.   So if you have cliffs that rise directly to the ocean, if you're walking along the beach, or if you're jumping off your pier or cliffside rocks, you should be careful.  .

Now, the one major complaint I have about this update is that if you do a lot of online trading for in-game goods, this means that people can literally swim to any point on your island if you have a lot of online trading.   When inviting strangers, it is possible that you will need to secure your island or prepare to end your session and kick whoever is present from the island if they attempt to take advantage of the new functionality.

Pearls, scallops, and Pascal are some of my favorite seafood dishes

Scallops and pearls are two of the most important items that you can come across when traveling.   Pascal will spawn and swim over to you when you find the first Scallop you find, and he will give you a Mermaid DIY card as a thank you for your efforts.   In total, he offers 14 DIY projects, all of which require the use of pearls in order to complete them.

Personally, I don't care for all of the new items you can make as a result of the update, but the fact that they are being added is a positive development in my opinion.   In my experience, the items that were introduced into the game were a big part of what made Pocket Camp such a fun place to return to over and over.   So, with the promise of new items, new NPCs to meet, and new resources to collect, I'm looking forward to what's in store for me in future updates that will keep the game alive and kicking!
