Features Of Heat Transfer Label

  •

A heat transfer label is a specific type of decoration, which is transferred from a carrier (transfer paper or foil) onto an object by the use of heat, pressure and/or adhesive. The carrier holds a release layer specific to the print process and the type of product to be decorated.

Heat transfer labels are typically used to decorate all sorts of promotional items, such as pens, magnets, pen holders, soap dispensers or industrial products like plastic buckets, pails and cartridges. They can be applied to a variety of shapes and forms and, because they are so thin, brand owners can achieve a more exclusive “no-label” look.

Conventional heat transfer labels are produced using direct offset or direct screen printing. However, these methods are limited in their capability of producing full color graphics. Other drawbacks of traditional methods include lower image quality, cost and time of prepress, and lack of flexibility.

Digital heat transfer labels, which combine digital label print technology with heat transfer application processes, provide an alternative solution to customary decoration processes. Benefits include instant availability with no need for plates or screens; short to medium runs with optional personalization; and high resolution, wide gamut colors and opaque white undercoats. Digital toners also offer environmental benefits, as they do not use the volatile solvents of screen or gravure inks.

Gintzler International, a Resource Label Group Co., has Digital Heat Transfer Labels that:

Meet growing demand from brand owners for higher quality, durable decoration and wider versioning capabilities
Allow containers made from a range of plastics to be decorated with high impact graphics and crisp, sharp text to deliver maximum shelf appeal
Eliminate the need to prepare screens or plates, dramatically reducing machine set-up times
Can be produced in large quantities or just-in-time runs, giving the customer utmost flexibility for production processes
Support anti-counterfeit measures, as the transfers cannot be removed or replaced
Contribute to sustainable initiatives thanks to the environmentally-friendly dry toner electro photography imaging process and the use of transfer papers
Appeal to a broad range of applications within the packaging industry – including containers and buckets for paint and varnish, food, and pet food.
