    Man Receives Five Months in Prison for Bullet Proof Vests

    Shervin Colebrook, of Pinewood Gardens, was arrested on January 17th after he advertised the vests for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

    Colebrooke pleaded guilty to possession of body armor at his arraignment before Magistrate Kendra Kelly.

    In mitigation, attorney Bjorn Ferguson told the court that the vests were owned by a policewoman who negligently left them after she moved out of a house that she was renting.

    Oliver, the caretaker at the home, and he found the vests in a shed.

    After he fell on hard times, Ferguson said Oliver foolishly decided to sell them.

    He said that Oliver was remorseful. However, Ferguson added that the crime wouldn’t have occurred if the officer had followed the force’s policy regarding government property.
