An actor’s journey to the silver screen is not as rosy as we see in the theatre. It has a lot of hardships, compromises and sacrifices. Familiarizing us with this journey today is Kishore Kumar Polimera. A man who has touched the lives of all those who watched C/O kancharapalem. A man who needs no introduction beyond this. While commuting to the location to shoot for an upcoming film, Kishore shared his journey with Hatke Story.
Actor’s Journey Not A Bed Of Roses
Kishore comes from a very humble background. Kishore’s father is a painter by profession along with being a poet and theatre enthusiast by hobby. His mother is a homemaker. The financial situation was such that Kishore and his elder sister had to spend a childhood of compromises. Before Kishore started on an actor’s journey, he saw the ugly face of life. Despite the burning desire to study, they had to minimize their ambitions to suit the financial situation. So this actor’s journey began with taking up a job very early in life. He would do freelance work to add to the income. As a teenager Kishore was a freelance photographer or a videographer on various occasions to earn some extra cash. This he did, while studying in MCH high school RP Peta, kancharapalem, without the family’s knowledge. Kishore knew that his parents wouldn’t approve of him working when he is supposed to be studying. In this way, Kishore completed his intermediate from B.V.K College, Visakhapatnam.
Discovery Of An Artist In Kishore
While he was doing his bachelor’s from Gowri Degree College in Visakhapatnam, Kishore was always interested in performing arts. He started on an actor’s journey, much before he was introduced to mainstream cinema. Kishore grabbed every opportunity to be a child artist in stage plays. He is also passionate about dance and participated in many dance competitions. Folk singing is also one of his talents. It was during this time that Kishore discovered magic tricks. A friend of his was established in this field. Kishore learnt to be a skillful magician from his friend in just two hours. He would sometimes combine dance and magic to entertain his audience.
The situations Kishore went through before starting on an actor’s journey are worth a mention. He borrowed Rs. 4,000 from a friend to buy the articles used in a magic show. His first magic show gave Kishore a profit of Rs.3000. He invested this profit in buying more tools that can improve his performance. This continued and Kishore had material worth a few lakhs at a point in life. The soon-to-be actor made the best of every opportunity he got. Kishore always believed in being away from the ordinary. This may have helped in the actor’s journey to Tollywood.
Love Story In The Actor’s Journey
Immediately after graduating, Kishore took up a marketing job as an executive in a popular automotive company. He took up this job so no one would object to his marriage with a girl he loved in college. Kishore met Sravanthi in his college. The two connected in the second year of college and expressed love for each other. Despite the fact that many girls liked him, destiny brought Kishore and Shravanthi together. Like mindedness is what connected the two. The couple now has an adorable little boy.
Kishore gave his best to whatever he did. Destiny gave a timely reward to all his efforts. He was soon promoted as the manager at the company. Kishore’s passion for acting had not left him. Whenever he saw young talent making a mark in the industry, he wondered why he didn’t get a chance. Despite all the talent the actor’s journey so far was without opportunities.
Kishore is a self-taught man. The talent he has today is what he learnt by himself through observation, be it dance or magic tricks. No coaching center has contributed to Kishore’s skill set. He’s proud to be his own teacher. With his first job, Kishore brought home Rs.5,000. Kishore and his family experienced living in comfort for the first time. Kishore kept growing professionally in the marketing field and earned 25,000 rupees at one point in time.
How The Debut Happened
Kishore felt the grace of God when he met the debutant director Venkatesh Maha. Kishore was the first actor to be cast in the film. When Kishore was looking for at least a YouTube video to act in, this came as a pleasant surprise. He didn’t worry about any details of the film. He said ‘yes’ to taking up an actor’s journey Kishore grabbed the opportunity and was beginning to live his dream. The path of an actor’s journey excited Kishore like never before. Audience greatly applauded Kishore for his acting. At that moment he realized that it is a blessing to be born as an artist. Kishore feels immensely indebted to the director for giving him an opportunity and the audience for appreciating his talent.
The Dilemma
Things seemed to be going great in this actor’s journey when a dilemma came by. Should Kishore leave the security of job and step into the movies? Kishore decided that he will continue to do his job in Vizag and go to Hyderabad whenever an opportunity comes. He appeared in films like Kadhanayakudu alongside the legendary actor Balakrishna. While Kishore was just starting to enjoy an actor’s journey, trouble cropped up at his job. His subordinates portrayed him negatively before his boss and Kishore was demoted to an executive in the sales department. With this, Kishore realized that status should be respected and behaviour should be modified accordingly. He was frustrated and wanted to quit. But the family’s dependency wouldn’t let him quit. However, Kishore convinced his family that his magic shows will save the day for them.
Shower Of Offers In Actor’s Journey
Luck favoured him one more time. Kishore was offered a Tamil film – C/O Kadhal. It is a beautiful remake of C/O kancharapalem, where he was asked to play the same role he portrayed in the Telugu version. The makers knew that no other actor could play this role to perfection. It was as if God was ensuring that Kishore continued on an actor’s journey. As fate would have it, Kishore quit his job at the automotive company. Within days, he got an opportunity to be part of Actor Nani’s upcoming film Tuck Jagadish. This opportunity gave him enough money to survive for a year without a job. Kishore recalls an appreciation from popular director Kortala Siva during this time. He told Kishore that no one else could have played the role as well as he did. Kishore was really encouraged by these words.
Kishore has been part of eight films so far in which the roles he played are all meaningful ones. The one that may release soon is Acharya, starring Mega Star Chiranjivi. This actor’s journey was filled with many tragedies. Be it a theft of his wife’s jewellery or his dearest uncle’s death, Kishore endured it all and reached the silver screen to entertain the audience. Being in the beginning of an actor’s journey, Kishore believes he has a long way to go. In this process he wishes to grow by helping others and ensuring that he doesn’t hurt anyone. The most important lesson that the actor earnt is to take time to decide things instead of being spontaneous.
